We believe that the recently announced Visual Studio Team System is going to redefine the competitive landscape in the enterprise lifecycle tools market.

This field-based role is focused on developing and winning sales opportunities by understanding key customer technical and process needs, and providing the business and technical evidence necessary for the purchase of VSTS. Partnering with the account team, you will work as the technology lead on the VSTS sales team to create, manage, and own the pre-sell activities for VSTS solutions to CXO-level and technical architect level customers. You will also integrate and plan for partners, Microsoft Consulting and Microsoft Premier Support into efforts to ensure successful transition from pre-sales to deployment.

About this Position: This role is based in Redmond from now until the end of 2005. In this period, you will work closely with the product development, business development, and marketing teams to formalize the pre-sell strategy and playbook for Visual Studio Team System and create pre-sell momentum leading up to the launch. This will include serving as the go-to person on any VSTS technology issues for the field and help them win accounts for VSTS launch, and developing benchmarks and customer-ready content to highlight the benefits of VSTS over the competition. This is truly a once-in-a-career opportunity for the right individual to make significant impact both from revenue as well as adoption perspective.

About You: You should have a strong technical background with 5+ years of relevant field pre-sales experience in enterprise lifecycle tools. You will have the technical expertise necessary to gain credibility with and influence lead architects/developers. You will also have the communication skills and business experience required to articulate the advantages of VSTS to senior business and technical decision makers especially in competitive scenarios.
