Same here. Now, after trying to FIXIT, etc., I can't open my old Outlook because "MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook." Lovely. )-:

For Windows XP go to C:Program FilesCommon Filesmicrosoft shared and right click on the folder “OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform” then click Properties. Go to the Security tab and add the user to the Group or user names and give them "Full Control".

Open Run (Press Windows key + R) > type services.msc and click on OK

On the services MMC window right-click on Office Software Protection Platform and select Properties

Select the LOG ON tab > change the ‘Log on as’ information from ‘This Account’ (Network Service) to ‘Local System Account’

    Click on Apply and OK
