Label Control (Visual FoxPro)

Creates a label that displays text.

Label

Remarks

A Label control is a graphical control that displays text that can't be changed directly. However, because a Label control has a full set of properties, events, and methods that other controls have, the Label control can respond to events and can be changed dynamically at run time.

To assign an access key to a label, include a backslash and a less-than sign ("\<") in the caption immediately preceding the character you want to designate as the access key. When the label is displayed, the character is underlined. Pressing the access key for a label activates the next control in the tab order. Use the TabIndex property to assign a tab order to a label.

Captions are displayed differently depending on the object.

256 is the maximum number of characters for the Caption property for a Label control.

For additional information about creating Label controls, see Using Controls.
