Problem   Users are receiving too much spam, or non-spam e-mail messages are being rejected.

Solution   Adjust the Spam Confidence Level.

Important

Be careful when changing the Spam Confidence Level, because anti-spam software is complex. For more information about the anti-spam software in Exchange Server 2007, see “Understanding Anti-Spam and Antivirus Mail Flow” at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=137372).

To adjust the Spam Confidence Level

  1. Log on as an administrator to the server that is running Windows SBS 2008.

  3. In Programs, click Exchange Management Console.

  4. On the User Account Control page, click Continue.

  5. Expand Organization Configuration, and then click Hub Transport.

  6. In Hub Transport, click Anti-spam, and then double-click Content Filtering.

  7. In Content Filtering Properties, click Action.

  8. Change Reject Messages that have a SCL rating greater than or equal to to the level that you want. If users are receiving too much spam, use a higher level. If non-spam e-mail messages are being rejected, use a lower level.

  9. Click OK to exit the Exchange Management Console.

Problem   The spam protection data is not in the Security report.

Solution   Include the spam protection data in the Security report.

To include the spam protection data in the Security report

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. Click the Reports tab, right-click the Security report, and then click View report properties.

  3. In Report Properties, click Content.

  4. Select the Security check box, and then click OK.

The spam protection data is included in the next Security report.
