Troubleshooting Office Outlook Web Access
Updated: August 21, 2008
Applies To: Windows SBS 2008
Error message
I get an error message that says, "There is a problem with this Web site's security certificate," when I browse to Office Outlook Web Access from a computer that is not joined to the Windows Small Business Server domain.
Cause This happens because the computer does not have a server certificate installed on it, so the server does not trust it.
Resolution Install the server security certificate on the computer, so that the server running Windows SBS 2008 trusts it. This enables your browser to connect to Remote Web Workplace without security warnings.
To install the server security certificate on your computer, run the certificate installer package:
From a computer that is within the network, copy the certificate installer package from Public\Public Downloads\Install Certificate Package.zip to a removable storage device (such as a floppy disk or a USB drive).
Install the server security certificate from a removable storage device onto your computer.
Important
It is recommended that you copy the certificate installer package only from a computer that is directly connected to your organization's network. Do not download the package over the Internet.
