How should I choose the network settings for the server?
Applies To: Windows SBS 2008
If you know the IP address of the local area network (LAN) adapter on your router and you want to specify the IP address for the server, ensure that the server IP address is in the same subnet range as the IP address of the LAN connection on your router and that the IP address is not currently used on the network.
If you do not specify the IP address, the server is automatically configured during the installation by using network discovery.
