How do I troubleshoot my network connections?
Updated: August 21, 2008
If you cannot connect the server to a router or if you have lost the connection, you cannot continue until you see a link light on the network adapter. It is recommended that your server be connected to a router that can access the Internet during installation, so that updates can be downloaded, but it is not required.
To troubleshoot your network connections, do the following:
Check the network cables to ensure that they are properly installed.
Replace the network cables.
Verify that the router is turned on and is working properly.
Reboot the router.
Important
After your server is properly connected to the router, do not disconnect the network adapter from the router during installation. You must have a link light for your network connection during the entire installation.
