Resolve
Free system resources and restart Portmap and Server for NFS
Windows may sometimes fail to load the Services for NFS driver if the computer is low on system resources.
To increase available system resources:
- Open an elevated Command Prompt window. Click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
- Type net stop portmap to stop the Port Mapper service.
- Close all programs and stop unnecessary services.
- Type net start nfssvc to start Server for NFS and Portmap.
Note: Server for NFS and the Server for NFS driver are dependent on the Windows RPC Port Mapper service. Stopping the Windows RPC Port Mapper service will also stop Server for NFS and its driver.
