Change an existing password

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To change an existing password

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

  2. Click Change Password.

  3. In User name, type the user name of the account that you want to change the password for.

  4. In Old Password, type the existing password.

  5. In New Password and in Confirm New Password, type the new password, and then click OK.

Note

  • Performing this task does not require you to have administrative credentials. Therefore, as a security best practice, consider performing this task as a user without administrative credentials.
