Simulate Resultant Set of Policy using Group Policy Modeling

To simulate Resultant Set of Policy using Group Policy Modeling
Open Group Policy Management.
In the console tree, double-click the forest in which you want to create a Group Policy Modeling query, right-click Group Policy Modeling, and then click Group Policy Modeling Wizard.
In the Group Policy Modeling Wizard, click Next and enter the appropriate information.
When finished, click Finish.
If you want to print or save the report, right-click the settings report in the results pane and do one of the following:
Select Print to print the report.
Select Save Report to save the report.

To create a Group Policy Modeling query, you must have the Perform Group Policy Modeling analyses permission on the domain or organizational unit that contains the objects on which you want to run the query.
Group Policy Modeling is only available if at least one domain controller in the forest is running Windows Server 2003.
To customize the information displayed in a report, click show or hide to display only the data you want to view or print.
On computers with Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration enabled a prompt appears when you attempt to view reports in the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) snap-in. This happens because the reports contain a script that allows you to expand and collapse sections of the reports using Show and Hide. To enable this Show and Hide functionality in these reports, you must add the about:security_MMC.exe site to the Trusted sites zone in Internet Explorer. This site represents all Web pages that are hosted inside MMC. You can do this by clicking Add on the Internet Explorer prompt. This opens the Trusted sites dialog box with the correct entry (about:security_mmc.exe) for the page being called by GPMC. Select Add and then Close on the Trusted sites dialog box to add this site to the Trusted sites zone. If the about:security_mmc.exe site is not added to the Trusted sites zone, the reports appear fully expanded and you cannot collapse the report.
In Windows Server 2003 without Group Policy Management installed, Group Policy Modeling was referred to as Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) planning mode.
From within Group Policy Management, it is not possible to use the keyboard to navigate inside an HTML report. To navigate inside the HTML save the report to a file and then use Internet Explorer to view the report. The reports have been designed to support keyboard navigation when viewed directly in Internet Explorer.
If you open a previously saved console, and want to save a Group Policy Modeling or Group Policy Results report in XML, the report must be regenerated using the Rerun query option.
To view a saved report directly in a Web browser, you must use Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape 7. Netscape 7 does not support functionality that enables you to show or hide data in reports.
