Create a desktop shortcut to open MMC

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To create a desktop shortcut to open MMC

  1. Right-click an open area on the desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.

  2. Follow the instructions on the screen. A shortcut will appear on the desktop.

Notes

  • You can drag a shortcut that you create on the desktop to other folders in the operating system, such as the folder where you keep your .msc files or the folder for the Start menu.

  • You can also create a shortcut to MMC in folders by using Windows Explorer. To do so, click the folder in which you want the shortcut, and on the File menu, point to New, click Shortcut, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
