Turn off IP header compression in PPP

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To turn off IP header compression in PPP

  1. Disconnect from the remote server.

  2. Open Network Connections.

  3. Right-click the dial-up connection you want to configure, and then click Properties.

  4. On the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.

  5. Click Advanced, and then clear the Use IP header compression check box.

Notes

  • To turn off IP header compression, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group. Some connections do not display the IP header compression check box.

  • To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
