Configure AppleTalk protocol

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To configure AppleTalk protocol

  1. Open Network Connections.

  2. Right-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.

  3. Select the AppleTalk Protocol check box, and then click Properties.

    AppleTalk protocol properties, such as a default adapter type and a default zone, are configured per connection.

  4. If you want to use this connection as the default adapter, select the Accept inbound connections on this adapter check box. This is the default behavior.

  5. In This system will appear in zone, select a zone for the system.

Notes

  • To open Network Connections, click Start, point to Settings, and click Network Connections.

  • You cannot clear the Accept inbound connections on this adapter check box by clicking it. If you want to stop an adapter from accepting inbound connections and you have a second adapter installed, you can clear the check box by making the second adapter accept inbound connections. Because only one adapter at a time can be bound to AppleTalk, the first adapter stops accepting inbound connections. If you want to clear the check box but you have no other adapters installed, you must uninstall AppleTalk.
