Create a task definition

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To create a task definition

  1. Open Authorization Manager.

  2. In the console tree, right-click Task Definitions, and then click New Task Definition. The Task Definitions folder can be at the application or scope level.

    Application level

    Where?

    • Authorization Manager/Authorization store/Application/Definitions/Task Definitions

    Scope level

    Where?

    • Authorization Manager/Authorization store/Application/Scope/Definitions/Task Definitions
  3. In the New Task dialog box, in Name, type a name for the task.

  4. In Description, type a description of the task.

  5. (Optional) Specify any tasks, operations, and authorization rules that you want to include.

Notes

  • To open Authorization Manager, click Start, click Run, and then type: azman.msc

  • To perform this procedure, you need to use an authorization store that contains an application. The application can contain a scope. For more information, see Related Topics.
