If your system includes a service processor, enhanced out-of-band management features, including console redirection, might be available to you. When selecting service processor hardware to use with Emergency Management Services, ensure that the hardware supports the following functions:
Turn the computer on.
Turn the computer off.
Reset.
Console redirection.
Field-replaceable components (for example, service processors that are installed in sockets rather than soldered permanently in place).
For more information about selecting a service processor to complement Emergency Management Services, see Service processors. If your computer is currently equipped with a service processor, check your system documentation for more information about the out-of-band management features it provides.
