Setting up the PC Authentication PC Application (Windows CE 5.0)
The PC Authentication desktop computer application is provided in binary and source code form in the %_WINCEROOT%\Public\VoIP\OAK\Phone\Lap\PCApp directory.
Note This desktop computer application is provided as a sample only. It has not been tested and should not be deployed in a production environment without additional testing, security evaluation, and other verification.
In addition to the binary and source code, the directory contains a Visual Studio .NET project workspace. Although the application includes Visual Studio 2003 project and solution files, you should be able to compile the application with other development environments or tools, if you use the appropriate tools and instructions for those tools.
The application requires Windows 2000 or later, or Windows Server 2003). It uses System Event Notification Services (SENS) functionality that is available only on these operating systems.
Note Desktop computers that use IPsec can cause the desktop computer application and the LAP to communicate differently. For more information, see PC Authentication and IPsec.
To Deploy and Use the Desktop Computer Application
Copy the CELockMonitor.exe file to the desktop computer to which the Windows CE-based device will connect.
The application is self-contained and does not require any registration or additional files.
Run the CELockMonitor.exe application and verify that it is running by looking for a phone icon in the system tray.
The application does not require any command-line parameters. You may want to put a shortcut to the application in a Startup folder so that the application runs automatically whenever the desktop computer is started.
The following procedure is only necessary if you do not use the compiled binary.
To Compile the Desktop Computer Application
- Using Visual Studio 2003, open the CELockMonitor.sln file.
- From the Visual Studio 2003 Build menu, choose Build Solution.
When the compilation finishes, the Debug directory contains the CELockMonitor.exe executable.
