Options for the Windows CE Stress Tool (Windows CE 5.0)
In a dialog box for the sServer.exe application on the development workstation, the Windows CE Stress tool provides options that you can specify to modify the behavior of the tool. You can display additional options by choosing More Options.
The following table shows options for the Windows CE Stress tool.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Hang Detection Trigger | Specifies the duration, in minutes, after which the harness considers some or all of the test modules to stop responding. The default duration is 150 percent of Module Duration. |
Hang Detection Action | Specifies the action to take if the harness detects that a test module stops responding. |
Reporting Interval | Specifies the time interval, in minutes, at which the harness updates test results and system status. |
Module Duration | Specifies the duration, in minutes, for which each test module is requested by the harness to run. The default value is 10 minutes.
If you specify indefinite for module duration, the harness runs the test modules for the duration of the stress run. Specifying indefinite disables hang detection. |
Concurrent Modules | Specifies the number of test modules that can run at any given time. The default value is 8. |
Verbosity | Specifies a verbosity level for the logs from the test modules. By default, the harness enables abort, failure, warning1, warning2 and comment verbosity levels. |
Auto Terminate | Specifies that a termination request be sent to the harness at the specified time. |
Auto Launch | Specifies that the harness automatically start running tests at the specified time. |
Low Memory Warning Threshold | Specifies when the harness breaks and reports a low memory warning. You can set this value to a percentage of available physical memory consumed or to an absolute amount of physical memory remaining.
Use this option carefully because false positives are common if you set this option. Many test modules have high short-term demands on system resources. |
Module Mix | Specifies the set of test modules that run on the target device. If you choose CETK, the Windows CE Stress tool runs any module that the run-time image supports.
For more information about module mixes, see Creating and Modifying a Module Mix for the Windows CE Stress Tool. |
Test Fail Options | Specifies the conditions under which the Windows CE Stress tool considers the stress test a failure. |
Break on Failure | Specifies that the Windows CE Stress tool break into the debugger under conditions that you specify for Test Fail Options, if a debugger is attached to the target device. |
Log File Location | Specifies the location where the .xml log file is stored. |
Test Server Name | Optional. Specifies the network name of another Windows CE–based device running the Windows CE Stress tool. The harness passes this network name to the test modules. A test module can use this network name to establish communication with the Windows CE–based device running the Windows CE Stress tool. |
