MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

This read-only property identifies the public queue associated with the MSMQQueueInfo object. The queue identifier is created by Message Queuing when the queue is created.

  • pbstrGuidQueue
    GUID of public queue.

S_OK

Success

E_INVALIDARG

One or more arguments are invalid

E_NOTIMPL

The function contains no implementation

E_OUTOFMEMORY

Out of memory

Remarks

Message Queuing sets MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid when the queue is created.

This property identifies the queue defined by the MSMQQueueInfo object. It does not identify an open instance of the queue.

The MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid property can be used as search criteria when making a query of existing public queues.

To retrieve the stored create time of a queue, call the MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh method and inspect the MSMQQueueInfo.QueueGuid property.

Message Queuing stores the identifier in the directory service (for public queues) and on the local computer (for private queues). The local value of MSMQQueueInfo object is not updated until the MSMQQueueInfo.Refresh method is called.

When using function calls, you can retrieve the QUID identifier of an existing queue by retrieving PROPID_Q_INSTANCE.
