When Storage Manager receives a Plug and Play (PnP) identifier unload notification from a block driver, the notification forces the partition driver and of any file systems do be unmounted. During this period, the mount points move into a suspended state and requested I/O access to the mount points fails with and error message of ERROR_DEVICE_NOT_AVAILABLE. When Storage Manager receives a load notification, it examines the block device to see whether it is identical to the previously unmounted device. If it is identical, the block device remounts with the previous mount points.
