Send Feedback

This function retrieves the name of the class to which the specified window belongs.

CeGetClassName is a remote application programming interface (RAPI), which enables an application running on a desktop computer to make function calls on a Windows CE–based device.

intCeGetClassName( HWNDhWnd, LPTSTRlpClassName, intnMaxCount);

Parameters

  • hWnd
    Handle to the window and, indirectly, the class to which the window belongs.
  • lpClassName
    Long pointer to the buffer that is to receive the class name string.
  • nMaxCount
    Specifies the length, in characters, of the buffer pointed to by the lpClassName parameter. The class name string is truncated if it is longer than the buffer.

Return Values

The number of characters copied to the specified buffer indicates success. Zero indicates failure. To get extended error information, call CeGetLastError.

Remarks

When working with RAPI for Windows CE 1.0 and 1.01, use the PegGetClassName function.
