WMI Provider for NFS

Purpose

The Windows Network File System (NFS) client and server enable you to transfer files using the NFS protocol between computers running Windows and computers running third-party operating systems such as UNIX. The NFS WMI provider provides a means of managing NFS server and client settings, file shares, netgroups, and client groups.

Developer audience

The NFS WMI provider is designed for programmers who use C/C++, the Microsoft Visual Basic application, or a scripting language such as VBScript, JavaScript, or Perl. Familiarity with COM programming is helpful but not required. For more information about WMI, see Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Documentation.

Run-time requirements

The NFS WMI Classes are available on Windows server operating systems beginning with Windows Server 2012. Some are also available on Windows client operating systems beginning with Windows 8.

The NFS Legacy WMI Classes are available only on Windows Server 2008 R2. Some are also available on Windows 7. They are not available on later Windows operating system versions.
