Nonterminal Symbol

A nonterminal symbol acts as a placeholder for other symbols that describe the language. The language specification must contain a production rule that defines what a nonterminal symbol represents. A nonterminal symbol appears in normal (nonboldface) type. Examples of nonterminal symbols are: term, Query.
