SSPR Short Message Service Interface
SSPR Short Message Service Interface
The SSPR Short Message Service (SMS) Interface is a One-Time Password (OTP) Gate that allows a user to authenticate to the password reset process using access to a particular cellphone as an authentication factor.
The SSPR SMS gate provides the following security benefits over the Email OTP gate.
Better access control – Access to an SMS mailbox requires physical access to a mobile phone. This significantly reduces the risk of remote attacks.
Better fit for some businesses – Today, more and more people have SMS capable phones, so most employees would be able to retrieve a one-time password sent to their cellphone. Also many businesses provide employees cellphones or have their employees personal cellphone information. This may not be the case with personal email addresses.
