Audio Effect DMO Wizard

[The feature associated with this page, DirectSound, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by WASAPI and Audio Graphs. Media Casting have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use Media Casting instead of DirectSound, when possible. Microsoft suggests that existing code that uses the legacy APIs be rewritten to use the new APIs if possible.]

The Audio Effect DMO Wizard simplifies the task of creating a DirectX Media Object (DMO) that implements an audio effect that can be used in DirectSound buffers and in other applications.

Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 is required to run the wizard. Select New from the File menu, and then select Audio Effect DMO Wizard from the Projects tab of the New dialog box.

The wizard creates a Visual Studio project and several C++ code and header files, which implement the framework for the DMO. After the project is created, you must add code that implements the audio effect.
