Style Tab, Report Control Properties Dialog Box (Report Builder)

Makes it possible for you to set style options for report controls in the Report Designer or Label Designer. As you change style settings for the report control, you can view those changes in the Sample area.

Note

This tab complements the functionality provided by the Visual FoxPro Report Designer Format menu when the Report Builder is active. Some features are still only available from the Format menu.

Font

(Label and Field controls only) Specifies the font settings for text controls. Clicking the ellipsis () button opens the Font dialog box so that you can select a different font.

  • Use Font Script
Indicates that the language font script specified in the Script combobox of the Font dialog box will be saved with the report.

When you select a default font from the Font dialog box, the font script selection will be saved by default. You can choose not to save the specific font script selection with the layout by clearing this check box.

For more information, see Font Dialog Box.

  • Strikethrough
Specifies that the control output text will be crossed through with a horizontal line.
  • Underline
Specifies that the control output text will be underlined.

Pen style

(Line and Rectangle controls only) Allows you to change rendering options for shapes and lines.

  • Style
Specifies the line style for a Line or Rectangle report control.
  • Weight
Specifies the line width for a Line or Rectangle report control.

    Note

Any line style selection other than Normal (solid line) will force a line weight of 1 point and this option will be disabled.

  • Curvature

    • (Rectangle controls only) Specifies curvature of a Rectangle/Shape control. 0-98 is varying degrees of roundedness, and 99 results in an oval shape rather than a rectangle. A curvature setting of 16 is the default for a new Rounded Rectangle control. For more information, see Curvature Property.

Color

Specifies color settings for the report control.

  • Use default foreground (pen) color
Specifies whether to use the default foreground color.

Clearing this check box allows you to click the ellipsis () button to open the Color Picker dialog box.

  • Use default background (fill) color
Specifies whether to use the default background color.

Clearing this check box allows you to click the ellipsis () button to open the Color Picker dialog box.

Backstyle

Specifies whether objects that appear behind a report control are visible.

Important

Rectangle controls only respect Backstyle if they have been assigned a Fill Pattern. Empty rectangles are always transparent, and solid rectangles are always opaque.

  • Opaque
Specifies that objects appearing behind the report control are not visible.
  • Transparent
Specifies that objects appearing behind the report control are visible.

Sample

Displays an approximate example of your selected style options as you make changes.
