Syntax

Parameters
- pVal
Returns the value of the Initials property as a reference to a BSTR.- Val
Sets the value of the Initials property to the value of the BSTR.
Remarks
In Collaboration Data Objects (CDO), initials are calculated using the first capitalized letters for the first, middle, last name of the contact. Each initial is separated by a period. The Initials field has a maximum of six characters.
Note In Microsoft Active Directory, the initials field represents the capitalized first letter of the middle name followed by a period. When a new user is created in Active Directory, the Initials field can be set to a string with a maximum of four characters.
This property is also available as the initials Field in the schema.
