EntityStateException Constructor (String, String, String, CurrentEntityState, Exception)

Initializes a new instance of the EntityStateException with the specified error message, and the type and Id of the entity that caused it.

Parameters

  • message
    Type: System..::.String
    The error message that explains the reason for the exception.
  • inner
    Type: System..::.Exception
    The exception that is the cause of the current exception, or a nullNothingnullptra null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if no inner exception is specified.

Remarks

If the inner parameter is not a nullNothingnullptra null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) reference, the current exception is raised in a catch block that handles the inner exception.

EntityStateException is thrown when the state of an entity prevents an operation from being performed. Examples include attempting to delete an entity that has already been deleted, restoring an entity that has not been deleted, or activating an entity that is already active.
