How to Create a Route for Staging

This topic provides steps for creating a route in Commerce Server Staging (CSS). To stage a project successfully, you must create the same route on every server that you specify in the route.

To create a route for staging

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Commerce Server Staging.

  2. In the Commerce Server Staging console, in the left pane, expand Commerce Server Staging, expand <server name>, right-click Routes, point to New, and then click Route.

  3. In the New Route dialog box, do the following:

    Route name

    Type a name for the route.

    Local directory where content will be stored

    Type the path of a local directory for storing the route information, or click Browse to move to the directory.

    Destination servers

    Click Add to specify the destination server. You will also have to enter the credentials of an authentication account for this destination server.

    To use this route with the Project Creation Wizard the account must belong to the CSS Administrators group on the destination server.
  4. Click OK.

  5. In the Commerce Server Staging dialog box informing you that the route was created successfully, click OK.
