How to: Save Report Data Environments as Classes

You can save the data environments that you use for reports and labels as classes. You can then specify these data environment classes for other reports and labels or use them with forms or other parts of your application requiring the same data set-up.

To save the data environment for a report as a class

1. Open the report or label in the appropriate designer.

2. On the View menu, click Data Environment.

   The Data Environment designer opens.

3. On the File menu, click Save As Class.

4. In the Name box, type the name of the class.

5. In the File box, type the visual class library (.vcx) file to store the class or click the ellipsis (…) button to browse for and select a file.

6. In the Description box, type an optional description for the class.
