Description

The Remove-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy cmdlet removes a zone transfer policy from a Domain Name System (DNS) server. Specify a zone name to remove zone level policies. If you do not specify a zone, this cmdlet removes server level policies.

Examples

Example 1: Remove all zone transfer policies for a zone

PS C:\> Get-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy -ZoneName "contoso.com" | Remove-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy -ZoneName "contoso.com" -Force

This command gets all zone transfer policies on a zone named contoso.com by using the Get-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy cmdlet. The command passes the policies to the current cmdlet by using the pipeline operator. The current cmdlet deletes each of the policies from this zone. This command specifies the Force parameter. It removes policies without prompting you to confirm.

Example 2: Remove a server level zone transfer policy

PS C:\> Remove-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy -Name "InternalTransfers" -PassThru

Example 3: Remove a zone level zone transfer policy

PS C:\> Remove-DnsServerZoneTransferPolicy -Name "InternalTransfers" -ZoneName "contoso.com" -Force

This command removes the zone transfer policy named InternalTransfers on the zone named contoso.com.

Parameters

-AsJob

Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.

The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt. You can continue to work in the session while the job completes. To manage the job, use the *-Job cmdlets. To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet.

For more information about Windows PowerShell background jobs, see about_Jobs.
