Program Manager – XNA Game Studio
If you missed their release, I’d highly recommend checking out both of the XNA Game Studio Express Videos on Channel 9!
From Channel 9:
“This is the first of a two part series in which we get a look at XNA - the technology that's going to make it significantly easier for devs to code games that run on Windows and the Xbox 360.
In this first part, we chat with Boyd Multerer about his role in the XNA program. It's some pretty cool stuff, and what I learned tells me that XNA could really change the hobbyist game scene for the better.
Topics covered include the tech behind XNA, the story behind XNA, and some talk about XNA Studio - the IDE that devs will use to write their games."
You can view the first video from this link.
"In Part One of this series, Boyd Multerer told us all about XNA.
Now, in Part Two, Frank Savage shows it all to us.
Frank will talk about XNA from his perspective, deploy an XNA project to an Xbox 360, modify the application, and also give a debugging demonstration."

I hope you enjoy the videos! Please leave us feedback on our blog about what videos you’d like to see and we’ll make more.

Hi Michael, The CH9 videos were great, the second one with Frank being the most informative of the two for me. Like others have commented, I would like to know what (if any) support the XNA team may incorporate for fonts and text rendering in the future. In the second video Frank mentioned that there will be network support within XNA down the track, again my comment on this is that it would be good to hear more detail on exactly what the scope of network play for the X360 and PC will be offered by XNA. Cheers, Michael.Anonymous

Hey Michael, We've gotten a lot of feedback about it and will be looking into that possibility in the future. In addition to that we're looking at releasing a sample that shows how you could use fonts easily through the XNA Framework Content Pipeline.Anonymous

Hiya Michael, "In addition to that we're looking at releasing a sample that shows how you could use fonts easily through the XNA Framework Content Pipeline" So, just to make this clear for me - is support for text/fonts already available as part of the XNA framework? Or is it something this will become available down the track as the framework matures? Cheers, Michael.Anonymous

No they are not, The sample we may release would just be a sample of how you could extend the XNA Framework Content Pipeline to allow you to use Fonts with thr framework, though it is not "built-in". Hope that makes sense.Anonymous
