Title Update 3 Available--Gears of War 2

The folks at Epic are at it again, delivering a hot new Title Update for Gears of War 2 unto the chainsaw-wielding masses. While game balance tweaks (e.g. revamped weapon spawns on Subway) and bug fixes are always welcome, it's the brand-spanking-new leveling system that's caught my eye.

Gone now is the old five-rank, Trueskill based system, replaced by 100 levels of experience-point-based ranks for Gears 2' players to chew through (think Call of Duty: World at War). I can already feel my inner level-junkie's thrill at the sight of a newly attained rank. To be clear, while the old system has been revamped, Trueskill is still used for matchmaking, so the competitive balance should still be maintained. Time to break out the Lancer and go to work!
