Presentation at Ohio State

I'm working with recruiting and giving a presentation about interviewing at Microsoft at The Ohio State University next Wednesday evening.  It's not a tech talk about Windows Mobile, although I will bring devices.  (You can't seriously expect me to leave them behind, can you?)  I'll be focusing on Microsoft interview questions, why we ask them, how our questions map to what we do, and possibly some interviewing tips.

I love these trips and having the opportunity to speak with students.  I'm currently working on my slides for the talk and having a lot of fun with it.  Is it too much of a stretch to put Windows Mobile demos in a talk about interviewing?  It's not currently in my outline, but it may go well with the “how this maps to what we do on a day-to-day basis“ part of the talk.

If you're an OSU student, please stop by!  I'll have some giveaways and you should walk away with a better understanding of our interview process.  You can check out the OSU NTSIG website for more info about their club.

GO BUCKS! :-)

    Hi Diane,

As VP of the Windows Interest Group at Arizona State University, I would like to say that anytime you want to come over to sunny Arizona to give us a talk or tell us about the work you do, you and your colleagues are more than welcome. We would love to hear from you all.

    Thanks.

Sushant - the best way to get speakers from Microsoft and others in the industry is to sign your user group up with INETA (http://ineta.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=2&tabid=3). They exist for the sole purpose of getting valuable resources out to groups and helping them be successful. Best of all, it's totally free!

I ended up doing very very basic slides, so they won't be of much help. Check out http://blogs.msdn.com/jobsblog/ They have a lot of interesting posts about interviewing at Microsoft.
