Version Control Guidance – Visuals to decorate your office wall or hide cracks in the wall resembling complex branches

Many of us prefer a visualization that delivers a crisp summary of hundreds to thousands of verbose text. 

The Version Control (ex Branching and Merging) Guide, now in service mode [1], introduced a number of re-usable visuals for presentations and quick reference posters. We plan to update these artefacts over time and if popular, add additional material.

    Thank you as always for the contribution to the community. These resources have not been updated in a few years. Is there new guidance, especially with the leaps and bounds both the wider DevOps community and the TFS ALM teams have been making the past 3-5 years? The stories seem a bit scattered lately.

    @Chris, the v3.2 - Version Control Guidance was updated in July. With the exception of the "classic" poster above, all have been created or updated with the v3.2 release. See http://aka.ms/vsarsolutions for a complete list of solutions, latest versions and publication dates. Our mission is to fill "gaps", ur bandwidth is limited and we have no plans to update mature guidance, or guidance which has been superseded by community or product documentation. We are investigating the options of merging mature guidance (i.e. TFS Upgrade, TFS Planning, and Version Control Guidance) into the product documentation to reduce duplication and improve discoverability. Other options are to migrate solutions to OSS and enable the community to contribute. Your candid feedback on these concepts will be appreciated.
