Forefront Protection Server Management Console is now Available!

Ensuring and managing Exchange security is always top of mind for customers.  Toward this end, I’m excited about the recent announcement of Forefront Protection Server Management Console 2010 (FPSMC 2010) which helps improve security management and reduce administrative costs for customers. Many of you already know that Forefront is Microsoft’s line of protection, access and identity management products.  With FPSMC 2010, Exchange 2010 and SharePoint 2010 customers now have multi-server management for Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server (FPE 2010) and Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint (FPSP 2010) through a single browser-based interface. FPSMC 2010 also supports hybrid on-premises and cloud environments by linking to the Forefront Online Protection for Exchange (FOPE) Administration Center.  And best of all it is available as a free download for Forefront customers!

As always, the Forefront Protection solution provides an integrated experience with Exchange and SharePoint, as one of our early adopter customers attests:

“One of the key features of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is the Exchange Management Console, which gives administrators a centralized view of their Exchange infrastructure. With the release of FPSMC, Forefront now affords FPE 2010 and FPSP 2010 administrators this same centralized experience. The new management console not only helps monitor Forefront engine updates and deploy a unified configuration, it also aggregates message statistics organization wide. Total Cost of Ownership and administrative overhead is reduced by having the ability to locate quarantined items and review incident logs from a single console” - Mr. Jon Webster, Systems Engineer at Elephant Outlook

Customers are also discovering the administrative savings of using the new Management Console:

“We often had problems keeping to two identical FPE’s on two Exchange Edges in sync. FPSMC takes great care of consistently deploying the config for me” - Christian Weber, Consultant at S&L Netzwerktechnik GmbH

And, it’s easy to use!

“It only takes less than 30 minutes to learn how to use FPSMC, and the web-based central management of FPE and FPSP provides greater control and visibility to our IT.” - Mr. David Feng, IT Director at Sporton International

Hopefully, that gives you enough reason to try out the new management console and start experiencing the benefits of simplified management, up to date protection and greater control and flexibility for Exchange and SharePoint.  And, you can’t beat the price. J

For those of you using Forefront Protection products today, download the new management console today.  Or, find out more about the Forefront Protection offerings for Exchange.
