Here's a Tip
So much of the buzz surrounding the demo seems to be about performance with a hailstorm of varying reports. The problem is that it's hard to know *exactly* how people have configured the sim. Or is it? Here's a tip you "slider obsessed" might find helpful made possible by a new feature we (oh, okay, me--I'll allow myself a little backpatting just this once) added to FSX:
- Configure the sim to get the performance you want (or want to demonstrate)
- Click Settings on the left hand menu
- Click the Save button and provide a file name
- Send the CFG file that gets created to your friends
- Have your friends repeat step 2 and then use the Load button to load your settings
The CFG file stores almost all relevant display settings with the exception of device-specific settings like Screen Resolution, Filtering and Anti-Aliasing. You'll have to coordinate that youself. Hopefully that will eliminate some of the guesswork on who set what to what.
(P.S. You can also access this functionality in-game from the Options | Settings menu.)

Okay, I've been wanting to post for a while but I figure it would just get lost and or stomped on,
I just wanted to post that I loved the demo. I get really frustrated with all these "experts" winning about all the things that were not in the demo or should have been or... etc. I think they want (or demand) a full motion level d simulator for $79.95. I swear they are worse than we girls are!!!
I'm really looking forward to the release of FSX and will be there first to pick up a copy (well second because my boyfriend will be in front of me - lol).
Thanks for all the hard work you and your team put into this project.

I wanted to say it was very smart of you to release the demo. Tons of beta testers for free! I'm sure the sim will be released with some bugs as all PC games usually are. I can see how difficult it is to fix so many thousands of bugs. As always I'm sure you will release a patch and we will have an awesome stable sim. Can't wait till DX-10 equipment becomes mainstream.
I would like to personally thank you for all of your hard work in bringing us an amazingly realistic flight environment. - Anonymous
