Did you know… you can prompt for arguments when you run an external tool - #206

And to finish the customization of the external tools series, you can prompt for arguments, in case you need to enter or edit values each time you run the tool.

So now, if i need to specify which file i want Notepad to open, i’m prompted for the filename (argument).

And recall that you can set the initial directory (where notepad is going to look for files at) in the external tools dialog.

    Hi Sara, Do you have any tips for improving the performance of VS? For example, a lot of people don't know that you can use the build configuration to disable projects in your build. This can greatly improve performance in a multi-project solution. (Sorry if you've already covered that.) Any performance tips would be appreciated. I wrote this while waiting for VS to bring up the references dialog. Just kidding about that... maybe. Thanks, Don
