Date Ranges in SSAS 2005 and ProClarity

Thanks to Dan Wilmot for this whitepaper.

Many users need the ability to run a query against an SSAS cube that includes a date range. Typically this date range consists of a “start date” and an “end date” selection.  The default behavior of dimensions in the cube makes this type of selection difficult.  This paper discusses how to design your cube to include a new “Start Date” and “End Date” dimension, then how to add those dimensions to the cube, and finally how to build a named set that represents your date range.  (Please note that if you do not see the link in a frame below, your network policy may be blocking it.  Please check with your network admin to be sure you are able to download content from skydrive.live.com via a link in an iframe.)

MSFTProClarity thank you for interest. I see only a blank rectangle after closing text "and finally how to build a named set that represents your date range." but no "Attachment(s):". I can see attachments with other articles like http://blogs.technet.com/proclarity/archive/2008/12/10/microsoft-proclarity-6-3-sp2-requirements-doc.aspx but not with this article. Thank you.

At the bottom of the post you should see a folder icon with a link next to it.  The link reads "Date Ranges in SSAS 2005...".  That link should allow you to download the paper.  Do you not see the link for some reason?

Problem solved... I use OPERA browser for technical browsing to keep imp tabs saved. Opera folder icon u said is indeed the case but enclose in i guess iframe bringing the download-link from skydrive.live.com. In my organisation its blocked hence OPERA was showing only blank iframe with border. Today when i happened to check it through IE-7 i got admin block page in this narrow rectangle/iframe containing download link. So i went over network admin and asked him to download the file for me. Please if u add a comment on the rectangle like "if u dont see download link or blank rectangle, your network admin policy might be blocking it". This will save other people waste days pondering over it. Thank you.
