Surface @ PDC

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post here about the Surface SDK because we’ve been incredibly busy over the past several months.  This month is even busier though since we’re working hard to get ready for PDC.

Our flights are booked and hotel rooms are reserved.  Trucks are lined up to transport a couple dozen Surface units down to L.A. for you to play with (in cool new ways).  The script for our session is coming together and logistics are getting worked out for some things I still can’t talk about yet.

I'm really excited about the "Developing for Microsoft Surface" session Brad Carpenter, Doug Kramer, and I are delivering.  The conference schedule has now been published: we're in room 151 right after lunch on Day 1.  Mark your calendars!

The abstract posted on the PDC site explains our session well, but I like to summarize it as "We're changing the world.  Here's how.  Come join us."  But wait, there's more!  Everyone who attends oursession will get to swipe their badges at the door afterwards to get an exclusive email invitation for joining the Surface developer community website where our SDK & Surface Simulator tool can be downloaded.

How about those ultra keen developers who unfortunately can't make it to PDC? Any way we can join the Surface developer community?

I'm also very interested in getting the SDK and joining the Surface developer community, but I won't be at PDC 2008.  How can I get an invite?

We really appreciate all the interest in the Surface SDK. We’re committed to growing a healthy Surface partner and developer ecosystem. At this time, we’re going through a phased release of the SDK. Microsoft partners can get more information about the SDK and the opportunity to buy units by contacting sbizdesk@microsoft.com. We are not announcing public availability of the SDK at this time.
