A peek at SecondLight
Microsoft is showing off cool tech from Microsoft Research at the annual TechFest. Microsoft Research's SecondLight project first made the rounds back at PDC in October when it was presented on-stage. Then we reported a month ago on Stimulant's XRay, which was a kind of SecondLight using an iPhone. Today, there's been more coverage of Microsoft Research's "SecondLight" project. This time it looks like they're letting the press up close and personal. It's always fun to see what is shown to the public from that brain-bank that is MSR. While it isn't the next version of Microsoft Surface, it is a really cool example of where technology could go in the future. After all, Surface was once one of those futuristic projects that came true.
Updates:
Jason @ TechCrunch has jumped onto posting about SecondLight. I'd love to know what they're doing with their Surface unit.
CNET's Ina Fried is at TechFest and posted about Andy Wilson's surface computer in a sphere.
