Imagine Cup 2008 NZ Finals - FINAL RESULTS
On Thursday the 1st of May four teams were brought up to Microsoft New Zealand's Auckland office in preparation for the Imagine Cup 2008 NZ Finals.
The agenda was chocka block, teams preparing, coding, testing, and practising on Thursday afternoon, followed by a finalist dinner party held at the WESTIN. Teams outside of Auckland were put up at the beautiful 5 star hotel, the WESTIN.
The event started off with morning rain and an early 7am breakfast for all teams in the MS Office. Following this, teams tried to calm their nerves as they awaited to present their projects in front of a line of high profile judges.

Rob O'Neil - Editor, Computerworld
Andy Hamilton - CEO - Icehouse
Mark Thomas - Founder, Right Hemisphere
Peter Macaulay - President Internet New Zealand
Teams had 20 minutes to present their project and 10 minutes of intense questioning by the judges. Judges had the gruelling task of assessing the teams and deciding on the best team to send to World Wide Finals in Paris, France.
Once all teams had presented, the media, public, and industry members had the opportunity to get a close look in to each teams project. Each team had the opportunity to show case their project and engage with the public for 1 hour before the judges announced the results.
In the final minutes leading up to the announcement, both the Managing Director of Microsoft New Zealand (Kevin Akhurst) and Singapore Airlines (Tein Po Looi) shared a few words of inspiration with the Imagine Cup Teams.
