Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) updates this weekend

imageThis weekend, as we continue making improvements in the online experience for our partners across our various web properties, we will be performing some maintenance and improvements that will require some features to be offline for a little while. As such, I am posting this update here so that you can see in advance what the schedule looks like and what will be unavailable during that time (and more importantly, what will be AVAILABLE during that time).

Schedule: Maintenance and improvements are scheduled to be performed between Friday February 11, 2011 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) to Sunday February 13, 2011 3:00 PM PST. During this time is when some features of the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) will be unavailable.

Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) :

The following VLSC features will not be enabled during this window of time:

  • User Administration
  • Subscriptions
  • Online Services
  • Software Assurance Benefits administration

Here is some really good news for you. As I have mentioned many times before, we are constantly listening to the input and feedback we receive from our partners and customers around the world on how we can continue to make your experiences with our online systems better and easier for you. Through the past few waves of updates we have made to our systems, we have now enabled many of the features of the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) to remain available to you for use while we are performing the improvements and maintenance listed above, which is something we have heard would be helpful for you.

As such, the following Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) features will remain online and available to you while the new updates and improvements are implemented this weekend:

  • Product keys
  • Product downloads
  • License information

As you can see, these are some of the key features you have told us you use, and you will continue to have access to them during our update window this weekend. In addition, remember that based on some updates we made earlier, you now have the ability to download a CSV file from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center that includes the information from your License Summary and Relationship Summary that you can view and use offline whenever you choose.
