Kinect for Windows now available! Information and resources for you.

imageYesterday we announced the availability of Kinect for Windows, now both from the hardware perspective as well as the SDK perspective. This is a very exciting announcement and will unlock a ton of potential for developers everywhere. I can’t wait to see what this enables!

With this announcement, I thought I would share some of the information and resources with you in case you missed them yesterday, if you wanted to find out, or if you want to get started with Kinect for Windows yourself.

I’m not sure if you recall, but back at the end of 2010 I put up my, “11 Reasons why today is a day to remember…” post and in there, the #2 reason was Kinect. The Kinect phenomenon has exploded since it's release and I am pretty sure that when we all look back on the announcements from yesterday in the future, it is again going to be one of those events we remember based on what it will bring in terms of opportunity and changing the paradigm of how things get done.

Did you find this information helpful? If so, you may want to make sure you are utilizing all of the areas I share information online, such as: my Facebook page, my Twitter account, my Linkedin account, and my blog. Plus, you can now get all of the latest Microsoft Partner Information right on your phone!

This is really awesome.  I can only imagine the day when Kinnect devices will be the default and the defacto standard for computers.  What's to stop them from being used all over the place.  If only there were more games accessible with the xBox Live/360.  That's the only reason I don't own one.  I'd buy one in a heartbeat if only developers would make more accessible games for blind users.
