Join Microsoft at DistribuTECH 2013
The annual DistribuTECH show, hosted by our good friends at Pennwell, has become one of the biggest in the north American utility industry. This year is likely to be no exception, and we hope that all our dedicated blog readers will take a few minutes to visit with the Microsoft Worldwide Utilities team while we are there in a couple of weeks.
While we won’t have Microsoft booth at DistribuTECH 2013, we will be participating with our partners in several demonstrations. Here’s the quick run-down:
· At OSISoft booth #2231, on 29 January from 5 p.m.-6 p.m., attendees will learn about , we learn about the OSIsoft PI system and Microsoft self-service Business Intelligence, for managing and optimizing metering and grid “big data” and “big analytics.” The presentation will center around how Microsoft PowerPivot and PowerView with Excel 2013 and SharePoint 2013 provide an exciting combination of new technologies supporting advanced data analysis and enterprise awareness. Attendees will see how these tools bring the power of multidimensional data analysis to the forefront of every PI users’ innovation by leveraging Microsoft self-service BI technology and the PI system to build “big analytics” for business insight for metering and grid “big data”.
· At Intel booth #1231, throughout the entire conference, there will be ongoing presentations of a demo by Dell, Intel, OSIsoft, National Instruments, and Microsoft on “An end-to-end approach for smart grid synchrophasor data management.” The demonstration will show how utilities can manage real-time PMU data with an open, scalable, and high-performance solution by Dell and OSIsoft. Our team will demonstrate how a Wide Area Measurement System will deliver the benefits utilities are searching for today to manage real-time PMU data. The solution is based on Microsoft and Intel technologies and includes PMU technology from National Instruments and a Data Management solution from Dell and OSIsoft PI System.
Please, I urge you, schedule some time with representatives of the Microsoft Power & Utilities team by contacting your Microsoft representative. We look forward to meeting with you at DistribuTECH! – Jon C. Arnold
