Flash SideBar Gadget.

The talent behind infamous Frog have put together a SideBar Gadget that makes use of Adobe Flash.

This is an awesome start and something I've wanted to see in the wild (I've seen others) and it just goes to show that SideBar Gadgets are quite agile in terms of bringing ideas forward from all walks of life and technology backgrounds.

I'd love to see though some corporate uses for SideBar Gadgets, something that is used as a LOB tool.

    There is work being done on a sidebar gadget that shows the number of bugs/tasks in a given query (e.g. number of my bugs).  This is a good LOB sidebar gadget

    I wrote a while back about using gadgets for application monitoring. This is a great way of demonstrating real business use for gadgets.     Yeah, there is also the monitoring side of things which isn't bad (not in the slightest) but I was thinking more along the lines of an LOB application that keeps summary data inside a SideBar Gadget itself kind of thing. btw, Rob, BatFink rox (a friend of mine named a CF Framework we worked on BatFink hehe).     Hi Scott, do you know if Sidebar has a two-way intercommunication scheme, like IE has with ActiveX Scripting? Can the SWF applet talk to Sidebar and receive messages from other Sidebar processes too? (I'm also curious if the doubleclick requirement mentioned on Lee's blog is a result of the "click to activate" implementation introduced in XP SP2... seems plausible, but it doesn't seem certain that's the cause yet.) tx, jd/adobe
