SQL Server User Group: Perth meeting
Business Intelligence (BI) technologies are emerging as important tools for businesses that need to analyse, report and scorecard their data. The challenge for today's business is to provide the right data to the right people at the right time, and meeting this challenge is about employing the right tools. SQL Server 2005 builds on the strengths of SQL Server 2000 by providing enhanced versions of Analysis Services, DTS (now named Integration Services) and Reporting Services. In fact Analysis Services and Integration Services are complete rewrites.
In this presentation Peter Myers will present an overview of SQL Server 2005's BI offerings. He will then provide a 'drill-down' into the feature set of Analysis Services 2005 including an introduction to the Unified Dimensional Model (UDM).
This presentation will be presented as a demonstration, and is relevant for database professionals with no specific BI background, and for those already familiar with Analysis Services 2000.
