Der dreitägige Workshop PowerShell for SQL Server Administration vermittelt den Teilnehmern Know-How und ein Verständnis über die Entwicklung von automatisierten SQL Server Lösungen mit Hilfe von Powershell.

Agenda
Module 1 ~ 6 : PowerShell Introduction
This module provides audience with brief introduction of Windows PowerShell, PowerShell provider and SQLPS module. We will also discuss best practices scripting with Windows PowerShell and SQLPS module.
We will be introducing: Commands, Pipeline & SQL Server Providers, Variables & Types,  Scripting, Remoting and Best Practices

Module 7: SQL Server Backup, Restore and Query
This module demonstrates step by step how to use PowerShell to backup and restore SQL Server databases. How to Invoke-SqlCmd to query data out of SQL Server.

Module 8: Enterprise Policy Based Management
In this module, you will be presented with building a Policy Based Management  to apply Microsoft Best Practices for an enterprise environment using Windows PowerShell.

Module 9: Enterprise Permission Auditing
This module provides an example of permission auditing across multiple servers and consolidate result using Windows PowerShell.

Module 10: Performance Benchmarking
This module presents using Windows PowerShell to collect Performance Counter and store collected values permanently in SQL Server database for further analysis.

Module 11: SQL Server Management Object
This module presents is an introduction to SQL Server Management Objects. (SMO)  SMO is a collection of objects used to assist in the administration of SQL Server.

Module 12: Configuring SQL Server
This module covers a few examples of configuring SQL Server programmatically using Windows PowerShell like changing authentication mode, update service account and network protocol etc..

Module 13: Azure
In this module, we will introduce PowerShell Cmdlets used for SQL Server in Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Zielgruppe
Der Workshop richtet sich an SQL Server Administratoren, SQL Server Developer, Help Desk Spezialisten, Systems Administratoren, DBA Manager, die sich bereits 2-3 Jahre mit dem SQL Server beschäftigt haben. Scripting oder .NET Programmier-Erfahrungen sind empfohlen.
