Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (part two)

I knew I'd forget a couple of things as there so many new features, here's what I missed:

Messenger

  • Media Center now has a built in version of Messenger.  You can sign in on the Media Center PC or Extender and use Messenger from the comfort of your sofa - it's worth buying a wireless keyboard for this - trying to type with a remote control is pretty slow

Portable devices

  • Plug in a portable device like a music player or a Portable Media Center and you can sync the content automatically from within Media Center using the remote control.

See part one for the rest.

Mike, Media Center is an OEM product, it's not available at retail. If you have an MSDN subscription you can get a copy for development and test purposes.
