MLB.com content will be available on Portable Media Centers
I'm going to have to create a “Portable Media Center” category for all these posts :)
I missed this on Friday, but Microsoft and MLB.com have announced that MLB.com content will be available to play on Portable Media Centers later this year.
So that means you'll be able to download the full game and watch it later on your Portable Media Center. That's a pretty compelling feature if you've already got a MLB.com subscription (which I haven't); I think it's included in the MSN subscription, so there's potentially a lot of people out there that could make use of this.
Remember, you can preorder the Samsung and Creative Labs Portable Media Centers at Amazon.com now.
I'm still undecided if I'm going to get one or not. I already have an iPod and rarely want to take video around with me. If I'm on a flight I'd rather read. I don't fly that often, perhaps for regular fliers or people who don't drive to work it's a more interesting concept. I can see that if I had a thirty minute or more bus journey each way to work I might be interested (I'd probably just take a book though).
Portable Media Centers are certainly making a lot of buzz, but I'm curious, if you're planning on buying one how will you be using it?

If the Portable Media Center also played DVD's, then I'd be interested, as it's a plus Experience. Getting tv and web video on it is great, but do I really want to spend time to rip my dvd down to this? The DVD is already a nice format for taking several movies along with you.Anonymous
