Lync End User Adoption materials from Microsoft
I was asked at a Microsoft event last week if we had anything to assist an organisation that was about the deploy Lync to all its users. Well, my bag of balloons and streamers was empty, but we do have a couple of things that might help you.
The first isn't a new resource, and in fact is still badged up Lync 2010 so you may need a wee bit of change to ready it for Lync 2013 but even so I think there are some excellent resources at the Microsoft Lync 2010 Training and Adoption Kit. There are categories for project managers, technical staff and end users and there is also a tab directly relating to Lync Online. A new Bing search has also turned up a new URL for this but it seems to be the same content, however for posterity the new URL is HERE.
Second is something more immersive and they are interactive courses to help users quickly ramp up on Lync through live discussion, sharing of best practices, and targeted demonstrations. Designed as 30- to 60-minute learning modules, these engaging sessions enable users to focus their attention on one workload at a time, expediting their learning curve, building confidence, and improving their overall experiences with Lync.
A sampling of current course offerings:
· Lync Daily Demo: a high-level overview of Lync’s capabilities, designed for those evaluating or just getting started with Lync
· Contacts and Conversations: a deep look at how to optimize Lync’s instant messaging and presence capabilities
· Enterprise Voice Basics: an overview of using Lync’s enterprise voice features
· Online Meeting Basics: an introduction to scheduling and presenting Lync meetings
· Present Like a Pro: an advanced class designed to hone one’s Lync presentation skills
The training is free and available at www.aka.ms/LyncLearning.
